The details written by authentic Aamilheen and Kamileen in books regarding the avoidance of animal products (Tark-e-Haywanat) for the purpose of Chilla Kashi are as follows:
There are two types of Tark-e-Haywanat:
-
Jamali
-
Jalali
In Tark-e-Haywanat-e-Jamali, the items intended to be avoided include every type of meat, egg, fish, vinegar, raw or cooked onion, garlic, Jimaa (marital intimacy), and refraining from Nazar-e-Bad (the evil eye), etc.
In Tark-e-Haywanat-e-Jalali, one must refrain from every type of meat, egg, fish, vinegar, raw or cooked onion, garlic, honey, Mushk (musk), every type of Kushta (calx), and any grain grown using fertilizer. It also includes refraining from Jimaa and Nazar-e-Bad; food must not be eaten if cooked in a metal utensil, nor should a metal spoon be dipped into it. The cooking pot (Handi) must be made of clay, the ladle (Doi) must be made of wood, and the utensils used for eating must also be made of clay. One must not use a knife, pocketknife, or razor whose handle is made of bone, ivory, or deer/stag horn. Leather shoes, leather caps, or leather straps in watches must not be used. Hair and nails must not be cut. One must not sleep on anyone else’s bed, nor allow anyone else to sleep on their own bed. Ghee, sesame oil, and mustard oil must also not be used. If there is a possibility of blood coming from the teeth, toothpick (Khilal) and teeth cleaning should also be avoided.
These are the conditions for Tark-e-Jamali and Jalali. However, in the contemporary era (Fi-Zamana), adhering to these conditions is difficult on one hand, while on the other hand, due to the necessity of livelihood—where an individual has to step out of the house to seek work for the sake of their family—compliance with such conditions becomes utterly impossible. For this very reason, in the present age, the Zakat of A’maal and Amaliyat is paid after seeking Ijazat (permission), or a request for Ijazat is made to a Sahib-e-Ilm (master of knowledge) by presenting a Hadya (gift/offering). In both these scenarios, there is no requirement for any Parheiz-e-Jamali or Jalali. However, there must absolutely be no negligence in religious matters (Deeni Muamalat). Furthermore, Ijazat is also granted on the sole condition that the servant, traversing the path towards righteousness (Parheizgari), continues to seek aid from Allah.
